حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عُمَارَةَ أَتَوَلَّيْتَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَشْهَدُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُوَلِّ وَلَكِنْ عَجِلَ سَرَعَانُ الْقَوْمِ فَرَشَقَتْهُمْ هَوَازِنُ وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ آخِذٌ بِرَأْسِ بَغْلَتِهِ الْبَيْضَاءِ يَقُولُ أَنَا النَّبِيُّ لَا كَذِبْ أَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبْ
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Katsir] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Abu Ishaq] katanya, pernah kudengar [Al Bara'] radliallahu 'anhu yang ketika itu ada seseorang yang datang lantas berujar; "Wahai Abu Umarah, apakah engkau melarikan diri pada perang Hunain? Jawabannya; "Adapun aku, dan aku bersaksi atas diri Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bahwa beliau tidak melarikan diri, namun kemudian para sahabat sedemikian cepat dihujani anak panah oleh Bani Hawazin sedang Abu Sufyan bin Al Harits memegang kepala bighalnya yang putih dan Nabi berseru: ' Aku adalah seorang Nabi yang tak dusta # Aku anak Ibnul Abdul Muththalib. Narrated Abu Ishaq: I heard Al-Baraʾ narrating when a man came and said to him, "O Abu ʿUmara! Did you flee on the day (of the battle) of Hunain?" Al-Baraʾ replied, "I testify that the Prophet (ﷺ) did not flee, but the hasty people hurried away and the people of Hawazin threw arrows at them. At that time, Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith was holding the white mule of the Prophet (ﷺ) by the head, and the Prophet (ﷺ) was saying, "I am the Prophet (ﷺ) undoubtedly: I am the son of ʿAbdul-Muttalib." (Bukhari: 3973)
