حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ خَالِفُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَفِّرُوا اللِّحَى وَأَحْفُوا الشَّوَارِبَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا حَجَّ أَوْ اعْتَمَرَ قَبَضَ عَلَى لِحْيَتِهِ فَمَا فَضَلَ أَخَذَهُ
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Minhal] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yazid bin Zurai'] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Umar bin Muhammad bin Zaid] dari [Nafi'] dari [Ibnu Umar] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam beliau bersabda: "Selisihilah orang-orang musyrik, panjangkanlah jenggot dan cukurlah kumis kalian." Sedangkan apabila Ibnu Umar berhaji atau Umrah dia memegang jenggotnya dan memotong selebihnya." (HR. Bukhari: 5442)
Narrated Nafiʿ: Ibn ʿUmar said, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Do the opposite of what the pagans do. Keep the beards and cut the moustaches short.' Whenever Ibn ʿUmar performed the Hajj or ʿUmra, he used to hold his beard with his hand and cut whatever moustaches. Ibn ʿUmar used to cut his moustache so short that the whiteness of his skin (above the upper lip) was visible, and he used to cut (the hair) between his moustaches and his beard. (Bukhari: 5442)
