و حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَامًا مَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا يَكُونُ فِي مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا حَدَّثَ بِهِ حَفِظَهُ مَنْ حَفِظَهُ وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ قَدْ عَلِمَهُ أَصْحَابِي هَؤُلَاءِ وَإِنَّهُ لَيَكُونُ مِنْهُ الشَّيْءُ قَدْ نَسِيتُهُ فَأَرَاهُ فَأَذْكُرُهُ كَمَا يَذْكُرُ الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا رَآهُ عَرَفَهُ و حَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَا بَعْدَهُ
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Utsman bin Abu Syaibah] dan [Ishaq bin Ibrahim], berkata Utsman: Telah menceritakan kepada kami, sedangan Ishaq berkata: Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Jarir] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Syaqiq] dari [Hudzaifah] berkata: Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam berdiri ditengan-tengah kami, beliau memberitahukan kepada kami apa saja yang terjadi hingga hari kiamat, yang menghafalnya hafal dan yang melupakannya lupa. Para sahabatku mengetahuinya dan ada sesuatu yang terlupakan olehku, aku memikirkannya kemudian aku ingat seperti seseorang teringat pada wajah orang lain bila pergi meninggalkannya, bila ia melihatnya, ia mengenalinya." Telah menceritakannya kepada kami [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] dan [Waki'] dari [Sufyan] dari [Al A'masy] dengan sanad ini sampai perkataannya: Dan yang melupakannya lupa. Ia tidak menyebut selanjutnya. (HR. Muslim: 5147)
Hudhaifa reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) stood before us one day and he did not leave anything unsaid (that he had to say) at that very spot which would happen (in the shape of turmoil) up to the Last Hour. Those who had to remember them preserved them in their minds and those who could not remember them forgot them. My friends knew them and there are certain things which slip out of my mind, but I recapitulate them when anyone makes a mention of them just as a person is lost from one's mind but is recalled to him on seeing his face. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of A'mash with the same chain of transmitters up to the words: And he forgot who had to forget that and. he did not make a mention of what follows after this.
