و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا فَمَنْ نَبَّأَكَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ جَالِسًا فَقَدْ كَذَبَ فَقَدْ وَاللَّهِ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَلْفَيْ صَلَاةٍ
Dan telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Yahya] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Abu Khaitsamah] dari [Simak] ia berkata, ia telah memberitakan kepadaku [Jabir bin Samurah] bahwasanya Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam berkhutbah sambil berdiri. Kemudian beliau duduk, setelah itu beliau berdiri kembali dan menyampaikan khutbah kedua. Maka barangsiapa yang memberitakan kepadamu bahwa beliau berkhutbah sambil duduk, sesungguhnya ia telah berkata dusta. Demi Allah, saya telah shalat bersama beliau lebih dari duaribu kali." (HR. Muslim: 1427)
Jabir b. Samura said that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to deliver the sermon while standing. He would then sit down and then stand up and address in a standing posture; and whoever informed you that he (the Holy Prophet) delivered the sermon while sitting told a lie. By Allah. I prayed with him more than two thousand times. (Muslim: 1427)
